We support the Cookie Monster is all his glory and do not approve of Sesame Street altering his "message" to include that "cookies are a sometimes food". Cookie Monster is an icon. It is not the job of Sesame Street to wield political correctness over the heads of children. We grew up with Cookie Monster eating cookies and were able to discern that, 1) he is a puppet and 2) he eats cookies because he loves them. Please leave him as is. He is a lovely character who provides many people with a good laugh! His desire to eat cookies is in his nature. Please allow him to do this without restriction.
