Please Rescue John Alexander

Hello,

I am starting this petition on behalf of my brother, John Alexander, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My brother was wrongfully charged and convicted by a jury of Second Degree murder. My brother was a victim in the case that happened in 2003. He was turned into a suspect in 2005 after only one of the detectives on the case was not able to locate the three men responsible for the beaten and death of my brother and his friend who actually died from being stabbed. My brother helped the police every step of the way, gave descriptions of the guys, there was a recorded 911 tape where you can hear the three men assaulting my brother and his friend. There was no physical evidence that linked my brother to this case, and no one eye witnesses. My family and I work for a living and we are not rich so we couldn't afford a lawyer in 2005, which was 2 years after the crime, to get a paid lawyer so he was assigned a lawyer by the courts. There was a detective that got on the stand and said that he believed my brother was innocent. There was only 2 black people on the jury and my brother is a Black man. The DA and the jurors would laugh and joke in the court room and the judge did not stop that. My brother is now 25 years old. He has two kids out here that we care for. He is a good person and everyone knows that he did not do this. The guys that did the crime is off free because the cops stopped looking for them once my brother got convicted even though they have them on tape committing the crime and the guy that was killed family said that they recieved calls from the guys that did it demanding money. They are out here free doing these crimes to other people. The cops had some of the evidence in their locker and not in the evidence room being examined up until the trial. This is a real stoery and my brother life is tied up now because we have no help. His lawyer sais that he was railroaded and his kids are suffering wothout their dad. He is a high school graduate who was working and attending Lincoln Tech to be a Certified Mechanic and hopefully own a shop. My mom and dad are hurt. I am hurt and we need help.
