Prevent the Poisoning of Pets in Sharm El Sheikh
We the undersigned respectfully ask the relevant authorities, including the Governor of South Sinai, the Mayor of Sharm El Sheikh and the Chairman of Charming Sharm to take ALL the necessary action to prevent the cruel and painful death of many of our household pets here in Sharm El Sheikh due to ingesting rat poison or Strychnine used indiscriminately by many hotels and resorts.
Background:
Sharm El Sheikh is the beautiful city of peace on the Red Sea Riviera. Hundreds of household pets-dogs and cats-have died painful slow deaths due to the careless and uncaring spreading of various poisons throughout the resort, to eliminate stray animals and rodents. This is a dangerous and cruel practice, and not only kills our pets, but also endangers small children. It is also only a matter of time until we have an incident that will gain the attention of the worldwide media and further damage our fragile tourist industry.
Requested Action:
We ask the above authorities to issue legally binding regulations prohibiting the use of poison.
We ask the above authorities to start an educational campaign to explain the banning of the use of such poisons.
