and whereas Remembrance Day is observed as a general Holiday in all the canadian provinces except Ontario and Quebec,
and whereas Remembrance Day is a holiday for federal and provincial employees across Canada,
and whereas this Holiday is established in order to honour those who have given their lives to defending the realm, and to mark what was originally thought to be the begining of lasting peace around the world, as well as to honour those who continue to serve Queen and Country by defending the peace in Canada and abroad,
and whereas the current status of Remembrance day prevents a minority of Canadians from observing this holiday, as well as inhibiting the understanding of a shared canadian and international heritage,
and whereas there are polls showing more than 85\% support for Remembrance Day to become a statutory holiday
We the signitores of this petition do hereby express our desire to make Remembrance Day a national statutory holiday.
