Protect New England from Nuclear Jeopardy

Because of A FAILURE OF THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION TO DO ITS JOB, the people and landscape of New England are being needlessly jeopardized.
To wit, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has failed to give the citizens of New England adequate protective services in the form of a comprehensive safety inspection at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant.
This aging, 1960s era power plant is of serious concern to all peoples of New England -- even as it stands. The proposed uprate, which will demand 20\% more of the reactor than it was designed for, makes the NRC's failure a CRISIS issue!
Join us in calling for a full Independent Safety Assessment of Vermont Yankee!
Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) shall: 1)independently assess the conformance of VT Yankee to its design and licensing bases including appropriate reviews at the site and corporate offices; 2) independently assess operational safety performance giving risk perspectives where appropriate; 3) evaluate the effectiveness of license self-assessments, corrective actions, and improvement plans; 4) determine the root cause(s) of safety-significant findings and draw conclusions on overall performance.
Similar assessments were completed at Millstone Nuclear Power Station, D.C. Cook Power Station & Maine Yankee Atomic Power Station circumstances called for it. Why should the people of VT, NH, MA and the surrounding region be afforded less protection than the people of CT, MI or ME?
