Nallely is a student at the school where I work. She is a wonderful, dedicated and caring young woman who has not taken her time in Canada so far for granted. Her contributions to our school community and to the Guelph community in general are numerous and selfless. She is a quiet leader who gives without asking for anything in return. But she does need our help now. Her permit to remain in Canada has expired and the Canadian Government has told her and her family that they must return to Mexico until they have time to process their request to remain in Canada. The problem is that she and her family have been the victims of violence in the past and they face the threat of violence, once again, if they are forced to return to their home country.
Please join us in our fight to protect Nallely and her family. Please also consider contacting the Minister of Immigration (Jason Kenney) to express your support for this cause. Thank you so much for anything you decide to do to help us with this fight. Nallely really is one of those "great" students and an all around wonderful person. She is terrified for her safety right now. And so are we. Her deportation date is December 7.
