PROTEST CHIDAMBARAMS KOLKATA VISIT ON FEBRUARY09, 2010 AND PLANS TO ESCALATE WAR ON ITS PEOPLE

On Feb09, 2010 Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram, is visiting Kolkata. He is going to review the success of joint military operation in a meeting with the Chief Ministers of Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhand and West Bengal and will formulate new strategies to make Operation Green Hunt more repressive and thus successful. For them Lalgarh is a laboratory for formulation of the type of operation to be launched against the Maoists in other parts of the country.

Two years ago, Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, declared the Maoists as the Single largest internal security threat. And now, Chidambaram and Co. are not going to tolerate them; they are to be exterminated. Whatever the electoral parties say, Operation Green Hunt has concurrence of all. Not a single voice has ever been raised in Parliament or State Assemblies against this murderous design of the government.

Operation Green Hunt has already caused great devastation, distress and miseries to the poorest of poor, mostly tribal, living in these areas. Their lives and livelihoods are at stake. In the name of expunging the largest internal security threat, government of India has declared war on poorest of poor, living in the forests having the best and the largest mineral resources. It is in the interest of MNCs and big industrial houses that the state has declared war on its people.

Draconian laws like UAPA and NIA are being enacted. Sri Sapan Dasgupta, editor of Bangla Peoples March, a lawfully registered magazine, is its first casualty. His abrupt arrest, torture in police custody, extreme apathy and neglect in jail as well as in hospital under judicial custody are indicators of the attitude of the government towards democratic dedicated lives.

For years, poorest of the poor are resisting the attacks by MNCs and government on their lives and livelihoods and are protecting valuable mineral resources for posterity. And today when the state has come out with all its repressive might, deployed hundred thousand of armed forces; once again the unequal undeclared war is resisted; be it Orissa, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand or Lalgarh in West Bengal.

It is the high time to raise voice against Operation Green Hunt, against the genocide taking place all over the country, against the draconian laws like UAPA and NIA.

It is the time for all peace loving democratic people to give a call KILLER CHIDAMBARAM GO BACK
