Quark series on DVD
To Columbia/Tristar Home Video, SciFi Channel, and Comedy Central:
We, the fans of the 1978 NBC SciFi Comedy series Quark, ask Columbia Tristar and the owners of the series to consider releasing the series on DVD and VHS formats.
In particular:
--All episodes released, uncut on DVD and VHS formats.
--Commentary by the actors: Richard Benjamin, Conrad Janis, Trish and Cyb Barnstable, etc.
--Commentary by Buck Henry (creator of the series)
--Clear film to video (or DVD) transfers
--Publicity still shoots
--Footage from next week previews (if any exists)
--Restored footage (if any exists)
--Improved/enhanced audio tracks.
We would also like to encourage Comedy Central, which once showed the series to reconsider presenting the show again. Along with the SciFi Channel to do likewise.
In March of 2002, Starlog magazine did an article on the show, and with
John's Javna's "The Greatest Science Fiction TV Shows" mentioning the little seen science fiction parody; it would seem that there are some fans to the series.
Since Quark was first telecast, there have been other genre spoofs such as "Spaceballs" and "Red Dwarf," With growing interest in this type of satire, it might be profitable to reintroduce this show to the public.
We, the fans, encourage the owners of the series to give Quark another chance either by rerunning the program or by releasing it to the home video market (preferably DVD).
