Regarding: Chael Sonnen's indefinite suspension
I and many others in the MMA community believe it to be of the utmost importance that Chael Sonnen's license to compete is reinstated. Below, we have compiled several reasons supporting this claim:
1. Possible bias on the side of the commission
2. Refusal to hear Matt Lindland's statements
3. Sonnen's testosterone treatments were acknowledged in 2009 by the Commision as a legitimate, ongoing medical necessity
4. Sonnen's previous charge of money laundering has nothing to do with his MMA career.
5. The severity of the sentencing effectively forces Sonnen to retire
Overall, we strongly feel that the punishment does not fit the crime. Chael Sonnen has already served out a 6-month suspension and has made it clear on multiple occasions that he understands his fault and simply wishes to return to his career. We hope that all of you at the CSAC will examine the argument presented and reconsider the indefinte suspension placed upon Chael Sonnen.
