PETITION TO REMOVE ACCESS BARRIER AT FANORE BEACH
On May 17 the county council erected an access barrier at the entrance to Fanore Beach. This is not only preventing access to the beach to local beach users but also has led to traffic issues as buses are not able to access the beach anymore.
The barrier was erected in reaction to issues and damages perpetrated by people who came by cars and are fully documented with photo evidence.
By erecting the barrier, the county council has not just avoided the issue, they have effectively made it worse as local users often helped in preventing overnight staying and helped in cleaning the beach and sand dunes.
There was no consultation with beach users or the public and we all should have some say in this decision.

I have been going to Fanore beach with my kids for the last few years. I love it there. I am disgusted that I am prevented from going in to the car park because I drive a campervan!

this ridiculous new barrier excludes me, a mother with children taking the kids to the beach for the day. I have alot of things to bring with me for the kids and this new barrier will NOT allow me access to the car park where i can have access to my vechi

i understand the reason for the barrier (e.g the decking being damaged etc) . i dont agree to its placement or the height of it
