We, the People of Egypt, assert our legal and human rights to keep our Lands and Lives safe. In the mean while, we assert that The Government of Her Majesty-The Queen of The United Kingdom- is responsible for clearing all the ordnance that Her Majesty's Armed Forces (as forces of occupation to Egypt during WW II) have left behind in our North West Desert.

The mine fields, in particular, constitute great and continueous hazard. The hazard is not only confined to our precious and priceless lives but also has been depriving us for the past sixty years of exercising our irrefutable right to develope the particular promising area and would continue to be an outstanding threat to our well being as long as those ordnance remain on our lands.

When our youth generations visit the cemeteries at Alalamein, they feel great pain and sorrow for the thousands of the war victims buried in our good earth. However, their pain and sorrow for their fellow Egyptian citizens ; those who have been killed and those who have become handicapped for the rest of their lives, are no less. Also, their pain and sorrow for their lost opportunities are no less. Their feeling of bitterness for turning blind eyes and deaf ears to their growing concern is no less, if not greater, than their noble feeling towards the war victims.

No one can blame our youth generations for looking at those mine fields as a great obstacle intentionally deployed in their path. They do wonder, how doesn't the civilized world look at leaving those killer ordnance behind the same way it looks at any other war crime?

Therefore,
we, the undersigned, together with all Egyptians demand that Her Majesty's Government live up to its legal and moral commitments. We demand a respectful government to start right away, as part of legitimate reparation, surveying and clearing those mine fields of all mines and other ordnance.
