If you have been ripped of by MCI in the State of California on Collect Calls received from Correctional Institutions, I ask you to please sign this petition.
I was recently scammed into signing up with MCI service for Long Distance. The reason I was persuaded to do so was at the promise that I would receive $3.00 off each collect call. When my package arrived confirming the switch over, there was NO MENTION of the SPECIAL DEAL.
After waiting on hold for over 30 minutes, I was told their was NO such package deal available. I then asked to speak with a supervisor who told me the same thing. I then filed a formal complaint against the person who switched my long distance services. The supervisor assured me that this was a serious issue and that it would be handled immediately. I never heard back from them (not surprising)
I also inquired into receiving credit for disconnected calls that are sometimes in excess of $30.00 a month. These calls average 1-4 minutes and show on the phone bill that we were disconnected.
The supervisor assured me there would be NO PROBLEM in receiving credit for those types of disconnected calls. All I had to do was call the number she provided and they would take care of it.
5/2 When I did receive my first bill, I called the number they told me to call and after 45 minutes of waiting on hold I was connected to a person by the name of Greg in the Colorado Springs Call Center who advised me that I would receive up to 90% of the credit back on on all the disconnected calls. I would receive a postcard notifying me exactly how much that was within 10 days.
5/12 Talked to a Tom in the Michigan Call Center and asked why I had not received my notification of credit yet, he informed me it was on it's way.
5/14 I received my post card and the credit was being denied due to the fact MCI felt these were all legitimate calls.
5/14 I called MCI to cancel my service as well as try to get these refunded by a supervisor. This supervisor informed me she would not credit me for anything.
While I was on the phone I also asked why a call on a Monday night at 9pm is coded evening while a call on Tuesday night at 9pm was coded Night. She could not explain that to me, and said she was sorry.
I HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF AND I KNOW THOUSANDS OF YOU OUT THERE HAVE BEEN TOO.
