Sarcoidosis is over a hundred years old an yet there are no known causes or cures and the diagnosis is becoming more frequent. Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that causes granulomas to occur and causes damage and scarring to take place. It can affect any organ and does not limit itself to age or race of the patient. It is most commonly diagnosed in the lungs but recently it is becoming diagnosed in other organs more commonly.
Canada has very limited information and resources available yet it seems there are many who suffer.
The National Sarcoidosis Organization has received two letters from both the Provincial an Federal levels of government an both refered to having Sarcoidosis patients rely on the Lung Foundation for our support and resources. They stated that Sarcoidosis is primarily a lung disease and showed no further support as to having this disease recognized in Canada as a multi systemic disease which it is.
I am asking everyone who would like to see this disease recognized in Canada through our government to please sign this petition which will be taken into account as Canadians need more awareness, research and resources available to them. Let Canada's government see that there is a demand for Sarcoidosis recognition and that there are Canadians who can an will Benefit from the governments support.
