The Federal "Harper" governement is trying to privatiize Canada Post. Along with other workers at other Crown Corporations, postal workers are once again targeted by the federal government’s wish to cut compensation and benefits for public employees. The Harper government is using the financial difficulties of some Crown Corporations to rationalize authoritarian measures.

  The new controls would be exercised through the Treasury Board. Tony Clement, the minister responsible, said yesterday that the government will try to “align” the wages and benefits of public-sector workers with those of private-sector employees. Clement’s comments only promote the divisive “race to the bottom” attack on all workers.   This is an attack on middle class jobs, well paying with benefits, nothing less.
