We the undersigned, hereby protest the proposed University Housing Services Housing Policy for the 2008-2009 academic school year. We believe that all students regardless of age, race, gender, or academic status should have the access to quality, affordable residence while attending Illinois State University as provided by the university. We believe that it is the duty of the university to keep students and the student governing bodies informed of policy decisions that will play a major role in the lifestyle students choose to live in a timely, reasonable manner. Failure of communicating with students about policy changes is detrimental to the public perception of the universitys policies regarding its students as well as the University Housing Services mission of creating an inclusive environment. We are requesting an alternative, reasonable plan than the one already proposed by University Housing Services.
