Save Our Neighbourhoods

To the current Victorian Planning Minister, Mr Richard Wynne The petition of voters of Moonee Valley and its surrounds draws to the attention of the Minister for Planning that we are frustrated and very disappointed by his decision to approve a 30 storey development in Moonee Ponds. We respectfully remind the Minister that he has been elected to serve in the best interests of the Victorian people. In this case, the majority of local residents, backed by the local Council and local Labor MP, did not approve of this development in its current form. The Minister was requested to exercise his powers to only approve a development for half of the proposed height. The Ministers decision to allow the development to proceed as originally proposed is clearly not aligned to the wishes of the residents of the area. The residents have many grave concerns about this development proceeding as currently intended. The petitioners therefore request that the Victorian Planning Minister reconsider and withdraw his decision to allow the 30 storey development within Moonee Ponds to proceed. We urge the Minister to act in the interests of Moonee Valley residents to defend and protect our neighborhood from inappropriate overdevelopment .
