Save the Musical at WHS

It has come to the attention of Wethersfield residents that budget cuts are being proposed for the next fiscal year. As members of our society, it is our right to petition what we feel is unfair and unjust in these proposals.

The successful and widely popular Wethersfield High School musical will be cut if the 0\% budget proposal is passed. In addition, any other non-athletic extra curricular activities will be cut from the budget.

This is clearly overlooking the student population of Wethersfield High School that is involved in activities other than sports. To cut funding for the musical would repress the creativity of so many talented students in our community. The musical helps students work towards a common goal, academically motivate themselves, and receive recognition that they might not get otherwise. The musical helps students establish positive self worth that might otherwise not exist.

So, I ask you as a past, current, or future member of Wethersfield High School or a member of the community with concern for the arts to sign this petition. It is vital for the success of our students.
