They're trying to sell wamo to a religious station called St. Joseph missions. Here;s the full story from the New Pittsburgh Courier
"After 36 years of ownership, Sheridan Broadcasting Corporation has decided to sell WAMO-FM 106.7 and WAMO-AM 860 to St. Joseph Missions. Also included in the package is WPGR-AM 1510, which was acquired by Sheridan in 2001.

WAMO public relations director Russell Bynum had no information about St. Joseph Missions and none could be found online.

Sheridan owner Ron Davenport Sr.s son Ron Davenport Jr. is the general manager of WAMO-FM 106.7. Employees at the stations were notified of the sale on May 15.

WAMO-FM 106.7 is a hip-hop and R&B music station with special programming on Sundays, which includes jazz and old R&B music. WAMO-AM 860 plays a mixture of smooth R&B and classic soul music and WPGR-AM 1510 plays gospel music.

Sheridan is the principal owner of the American Urban Radio Networks, the only African-American owned radio network company in the nation."

We gotta do something about this. Idk about you but i love wamo. And the more people that are with me the more we can do something about this!

Here's the Address for Sheridan Broadcasting Company if you want to send them a piece of your mind: 960 PENN AVE PITTSBURGH, PA 15222
and # is (412) 456-4000

41. Sherry A | It's a real sad statement for this city not to have an African American radio station. Other cities have several of them - and we don't even have one. Sheridan should move out of this city.

40. Jerri N | I now live in VA but when I go home I look forward to listening to the radio station I grew up with. It is a shame that this history will go away. What does that say about what your thoughts are about our black history. Please don't sell to a company that
