My name is Jacob Lesner Buxton and I am a student at Cal State East Bay in the masters of social work program, and also am a person with a disability . I also live on campus in the apartment son campus string of incidents that have taken place in the last two months where I made fun of because of my disability or had hateful words spoken in my presence. The incidents include the following.
I was getting dinner at the dinning commons one night when , a male a half step ahead of me in line called a female Retarded . When I got up the counter , the casher , kept laughing at them as she rang me up.
I accidently spilt some laundry soap in the hallway of my building I m two woman were walking by and they said very loudly oh no did someone pill some soap and were laughing and pointing at me.
About three weeks ago, some men were throwing a ball that was hitting my window , when I yelled at them, they mocked my speech
My speech was again made fun of by two men at dinner when I sat at the table next to them to beginning of October
Luckily the staff on my campus is working with me to address these matters . However no student , regardless of gender , religion sexual orientation , or disability should be subject to harassment at a university.
