Say NO to Pay Hike for New Brunswick MLAs

The premier, ministers, MLAs and civil servants are already drawing millions with undisclosed bonuses per person at a time when more and more households in New Brunswick cannot even make ends meet and are seeing their real income deteriorate. Furthermore, other provinces such as Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador, BC, Manitoba and Saskatchewan have much lower salaries for elected officials than does New Brunswick. For example, the Premiers of the above provinces (in that order) make $81,806, $62,500, $92,580, $98,000, $74,982 and $80,285 respectively as opposed to Premier Graham's $104,923. Even British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell's salary is lower and his responsibilities *FAR OUTWEIGH* all of New Brunswick governments combined.
So therefore it is obvious that the proposal to give the premier, ministers and all other legislative members a pay hike on top of their already obscene pay is completely unjustifiable. That is why, we the undersigned, propose that:
The Premier of New Brunswick cancel the 13 per cent proposed pay and allowance raise for MLAs and to allow voters around the province to decide whether their MLA deserves a pay raise in the next general election.
