Sonic the Hedgehog Proposal

We (I will assume that I am speaking for many other consumers) have recently perchased a copy of the Xbox 360 game, Sonic the Hedgehog. After all of the "hype" that was given to this game, I was expected a momentous and breathtaking achievement that would put your mascot, Sonic, back on the maps.

What I recieved was nearly the complete opposite.

This Sonic game, to be frank, felt incomplete. Mainly, many important and promised features were missing, such as the innovative day/night system. Other lesser features that were removed (according to such sources as the game manuel and the guide book) include, but are not limited to:

-Knuckles' ability to glide into enemies and damage them in the process

-Silver's speed chip that was supposedly meant to enhance his running speed

-a larger radius for Shadow's Chaos Blast technique

-a hidden 11th level that was mentioned on the game's American and European websites

Another problem with the game were the grammatical inaccuracies. In numerous cases, there were spelling errors in the subtitles and even in the VA scripts (for example, in a cutscene, a GUN superior called the Scepter of Darkness the "Book" of Darkness). This could have been easily addressed, as I don't think I have seen an official console game with more grammar errors. Also, many glitches were present that ruined the gameplay. Incredibly and unneededly long load times were also a problem.

This entire game was problematic, and people are getting frustrated at Sonic's consistant failures.

This game is selling poorly, and it is because of the lack of time put into the making of this game. I honestly and safetly can say this: this game had potential. Potential to be the game that would put Sonic back in his place as a top contender in the video game world.

That is why I have created this petition.

I have two possible senarios in which this game could be finished.

#1. Sega could order a silent recall on every copy of Sonic the Hedgehog for the PS3 and Xbox 360 (this isn't neccesary, but it could cause the gaming audience less confusion). With that, you can "patch up" the upcoming copies of Sonic the Hedgehog by fixing the grammatical errors and by adding all of the promised features. You could also use this oppertunity to fix many of the glitches present in the current version. When this new, polished version of Sonic the Hedgehog is released, you can distinguish it from other copies by adding a unique logo or marking, or by simply asking all retailers to place a distinguishing mark on all new copies of Sonic the Hedgehog that they will recieve in upcoming shipments. This action could give people who haven't yet bought this game a better perspective of Sonic, as many people who have purchased the current version of this game feel insulted by it. Critics who haven't played the current version of this game could give it a better reception, which could coax more consumers into buying it.

#2. Game-enhancing patches could be simply up for sale on the online marketing places. However, some unfortunate gamers do not have online and would not be able to access this option. Also, some would feel left out in the dark if this was the course of action taken, and the overall reception of this game would remain unchanged.

Please take this into careful thought. Sonic has been one of the world's most respected gaming characters throughout the years. But the quality of Sonic's recent adventures is saddening many of his longtime fans, and it seemingly isn't attracting new fans. Please show that Sonic is a character worth saving and deliver to us what was promised.
