We, the citizens of Arizona, petition the government to stop school budget cuts completely. During this next fiscal year, the state is expected to cut $600 million from schools. These school budget cuts will cut programs and teachers, which will lead to a drastic decrease in educational output for all schools. Currently, the average citizen of Arizona pays $511 per year for state income tax. That is the 9th lowest in the U.S. The income tax can be increased in order to cover the $600 million deficit the schools need to cut. With Arizonas total population over 18 years of age being 4.77 million, it would only increase the income tax by an average of $125.76 per year per person. That accounts to less than $0.30 per day per person. This is a small sacrifice that everyone should make in order to help the future of America. If these school budget cuts go on ignored, the next generation of citizens will lack the proper education needed to run the country. The country will not have enough scientists and engineers needed to maintain its world power status. For the sake of future America, education cannot go unnoticed.
