We, the undersigned, vehemently object to your approval of BP's Whiting Refinery request to dump additional pollutants, including ammonia and suspended solids, into Lake Michigan and hereby request that you rescind this agreement.
It is irrevelant that the EPA has designated the amounts to be 'acceptable.' In this world culture, where we are finally beginning to recognize our impact on the environment, the allowance of this dumping is a backward step. We don't own this planet. We are co-habitors and it's time we stepped up to the plate and took responsibility for our impact on this world.
