Stop Preaching to Minors

We are a group of Singaporeans from different ethnic and religious backgrounds.

We are very concerned about the activities of certain religious organisations here in Singapore who have been preaching their message and religion to under aged minors.

Lately children from as young as 14 have been cajoled and harassed by preachers in public places to convert into their religion. Some have even been encouraged to go against their parents in order to do so. As family is the basic unit of society, these preaching activities will have detrimental effects on the nation as a whole.

Minors do not have the full mental capacities to comprehend the message that is being preached, especially if continually harassed and cajoled. Minors should be free to walk in public places without being approached by preachers.

We urge that religious leaders involved to stop the preaching of religion onto those below the age of 18.
