Strengthen Indo-Pak peace initiatives

The environment of peace process between India and Pakistan has been encouraged by the Pakistan President Mr. Parvez Musharrafs visit to India. We strongly feel that India, the senior partner for peace process, should conclude an agreement with Pakistan to determine the level of arms and equipments of war the two countries have to maintain in the interest of security of the respective countries. If erstwhile USSR and the USA could conclude agreements on control of weapons of mass destruction and equipments of war in the midst of Cold War, there is no reason, why India cannot initiate such a move for herself and for the sake of this sub-continent. Gesture for such a move on the part of India will serve to strengthen the urge for peace on either side of the border and will also strengthen the hands of the Pakistan President in containing the war-mongering hostile forces in his own country.
