AFFIRMING our belief in Canadian independence and sovereignty,
EXPRESSING our concern over the secrecy and exclusivity surrounding the North American Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP),
DEMANDING that our elected government respect the supremacy of the will of the Canadian people,
strongly urge the Government of Canada to take the following steps regarding the SPP:
(i) Make public the discussions of the SPP's working groups;
(ii) Formally advise the United States Government that Canada's current combat role in Afghanistan will end in February of 2009, and insist upon discussion with NATO regarding the replacement of Canadian troops;
(iii) Make clear that Canada will never agree to bulk exports of Canadian water;
(iv) Demand that Omar Khadr be removed from the Guantanamo Bay detention facility and face justice in a legitimate court of law; and
(v) Insist that the United States live up to its commitments on border security by taking immediate measures to curb the illegal flow of guns from the U.S. into Canada; and
(vi) Call for public input and parliamentary examination of the SPP and its effects upon Canadian sovereignty.
