We respectfully ask the Alberta Government to reverse its ruling that now prevents underage musicians from performing in Alberta bars. While other provinces continue to allow minors to develop their talents, Alberta's ruling will eventually weaken Alberta's voice in the national music arena.
The government has cited safety concerns for its decision, yet there isn't a single recorded case of an underage musician who sustained an injury in an Alberta bar.
Please reconsider this unnecessary ruling.

If I wasn't allowed to perform in bars at 17-18 in BC where the legal age is 19, I never would have had the experience needed to continue a successful 31 year career.
Its not fair that my new home province doesn't allow the same rules to apply as EVERY OT

are we really a bunch of quackers there is no age limit in bars across Europe and they have no under age drinking issue !

I think allowing underage musicians to perform in bars is the right choice. Doing so opens up so many more opportunities for them.
