This petition has been created to urge the NFL and the Atlanta Falcons to suspend Michael Vick. Whether or not he is guilty of all counts the federal indictment cited, it is highly likely he was involved to a minimal degree at the very least.
This alleged involvement and/or participation disgraces the sport and the league. We as NFL fans, and in many case, pet owners, expect better from the NFL. The NFL takes player issues the most serious out of all major sports, which helps keep the NFL the most respected sports organization in the world.
The crimes described in the indictment were brutal, heinous, and inhumane. Any involvement whatsoever to these crimes by any person, let alone an NFL player, should be punishable to the fullest extent. We urge the NFL and the Atlanta Falcons to distance themselves from this situation to help uphold the otherwise favorable image the team and the sport currently have.
Michael Vick should be suspended immediately and not able to participate in any league activities until the matter is sorted out. With federal evidence mounted against him, the NFL and the Atlanta Falcons should weigh what is more important to the sport and the fans.
