20th January 1992, 14 year old Tracey Meade said good bye to her Mother (Kim) and went off to stay the night at her aunt's flat nearby. It happened so often that Kim didn't give it a second thought. Only Tracey never arrived. Twelve days later her body was found in the Grand Union Canal. She had been stabbed twice. 17 years on, no one has been charged with her murder. Many, at the time, and still do, believe that not enough was done over the 2 weeks Tracey was missing. It was very much left to her family and friends to do what "others" could and should have done. Only 'after' Tracey was found, that it then became 'news!. With so many of our own young children, over the last 5/10 years being murded, and like Tracey, all with much to give and live for. It is very vogue now for children to carry 'Tools of Death', and it is as equally vogue for newspapers to be reporting it. Sadly this wasn't the case for Tracey or her family. The local news-rag only saw fit, at the time, to write something about this small, beautiful, innocent 14 year old once she had been found. This petition is to hopefully highlight once more, the sad death of a child. Also for anyone who could help in anyway (write,speak,etc), to get some kind of justice, but most of all, some peace for Kim, her family, love ones and the many friends that Tracey was taken from.
