Citizens of Ireland . It appears that our new "saviour" government , have already forgotten the will of the Irish people after forming their coalition. All of the promises that they made whilst building their profiles for the general election are already starting to show cracks. At a time when the country is in the worst financial ruin in the history of the state , with thousands unemployed , and good honest people with families struggling to hold onto their homes , they have decided to hit us with a water tax . Over the next few years we will see water meters installed into all of our homes and we will be charged for this basic service . It is likely that once these meters are installed , every household will be given a quota , and will then pay out even more money that we don't have, so that our children can bathe themselves and drink fresh water . It escapes the the intellectual capacity of our new government that it would be more plausible to fix the leaking water mains with the money that it will cost to install these meters. Why should we have to pay for water that has traces of so called acceptable levels of e coli , and large quantities of flouride. The aim of this petition is to get 100,000 signatures , which will then be presented by an opposition member to Enda Kenny in the Dáil.
