TO THE PRODUCERS OF THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY RENT BENEFIT

We have something to say and demand to be heard. You CANNOT charge so much for the RENT benefit that the people who truly deserve to see it are shut out. We, the fans, stood in the pouring rain and the sweltering heat, we went without food, shelter and showers to get the cheap seats every day. We memorized every last note and word, stood at the stage door, we showed up to every open audition with but one dreamKEEP RENT ALIVE. And we have done that for nearly 10 years.
We have been through hell and back with so many Mimis and Rogers we have lost count. We bought the tee-shirts, the pins, the hoodies so that we might express to the world and anyone else who would listen just how much we love RENT. Now we have no money to buy tickets for the show, but without us this show would have closed years ago.

Now you have kicked us in the gut with outrageous ticket prices to the one night only benefit with the original Broadway cast. Let me repeat that in case you dont understand the significance: ONE NIGHT ONLY WITH THE ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST!!

You are asking a fee that none of us will be able to afford and that is an INSULT to all who suffered to make this show what it is today, beloved world wide and set to break records at the box office. The only people who will be able to afford a ticket are the people this show hates. How ironic is that?

We, the undersigned plead for our rightful opportunity to attend this once in a lifetime performance. You owe it to us, the FANS!!!
