Prevention of Iraq War Conflict of Interest.

To Prime Minister Tony Blair,

One of the most controversial acts of your Prime Ministerial term was taking the United Kingdom to war, in support of the USA without a second resolution from the United Nations.

When you retire as Prime Minister, you will be lucky enough to enjoy pension entitlements in the region 100,000; way in excess of what most can dream of. Doubtless you will write a book, publish your memoirs and enjoy a lucrative career on the lecture circuit.

Your unwavering support of the United States will most certainly not have damaged your potential retirement earnings in that country.

We are sure you would be keen to avoid any possible allegation that you might be seen to profit from the recent war in Iraq. It is therefore essential that any question of an apparent conflict be avoided.

We the undersigned therefore request that you hypothecate all and any future US earnings you may derive, from any book sale, lecture tour or such like, for a worthy charity (or your choice) such as the Royal British Legion.
