Toy Story 3

The Walt Disney Company has not had near the success of Pixar in it's recently released films. This is not due to a lack of licenses to create sequels for. Disney has an incredibly extensive 'vault' of timeless children's films and beloved characters. An example of this is the success of 'Return to Neverland', a sequel to the absolute classic 'Peter Pan'. The sequel did around 50 Million in the box office, while 'Toy Story 2', a sequel to a relatively minor film, did 250 Million in the box office.
We the undersigned pledge to give more support to future animated Disney films, in exchange for the good faith of Disney giving the right to make future Toy Story films to Pixar. Disney's commitment to creating excellent entertainment has been called in to question in the past years, due to sub standard films and low budget, direct to video sequels. By giving this license that is so valuable over to the right hands, Disney can show that quality entertainment comes first. The potential damage that a Disney Toy Story sequel could do to the sales of merchandise and the original Toy Story films, when compared to the boost in sales that those properties would recieve due to a Pixar created film, should be reason enough to relinquish the rights to Toy Story. But we the undersigned believe the potential damage to timeless memories of wonderful characters should not go unchallenged, and that is the reason that this petition is being put forth.
