This petition is directed to Unite, a university accommodation service. Current occupants in their respective accommodations will most likely face external additional costs at the end of the academic year to repair damages incurred during their stay. Whilst this action is more than fair, however, it must be within reason. Some of the prices charged for various items of damage have been deemed 'far too excessive' by present occupants of Unite accommodation, and do not illustrate fairness in any connotation of the word. For example, Unite will charge 65 pounds for any number of marks on one wall, if there are marks on four walls that's 260 pounds! With this amount of money the entire room can be repainted with plenty of money to spare. The point being made here is that, as students, these charges, like the one's in the example given, are both unreasonable and unfair. There are bound to be some sort of imperfections left after an entire academic year of student living in these accommodations. Therefore, this outrageous pricing scheme ought to be revised carefully by Unite, whilst considering the fact that the majority living in these residences live on a student budget. Thank you.
