We, the members of the University of Connecticut community, demand that university funded and sponsored communication outlets (Daily Campus, UCTV, WHUS radio, etc.) are acccountable for publishing information that conflicts with the University's mission to make the campus a diverse, safe learning environment.
We value and cherish the Freedom of Speech as protected in the First Amendment of the Constitution, but mocking social epidemics, including but not limited to, racism, sexual assault, homophobia, and differently abledness, only perpetuate violence and inequality.
We demand the administration stop funding the mass dissemnination of bigotry.
