Unjust punishment of MISD student

We the Undersigned students and parents of MISD, belive that the actions taken towards Ashton Parkhurst are amiss and unjustified. The actions toward Ashton Parkhurst are unconscionable. At lunch, strangers were caught breaking into his car, and smoking around it, so the police searched his car without a warrant, or Ashton's permission. When the police searched his car, they found left-over fireworks from July the Fourth, (with much less power than a child's bottlerocket) which were never intended for harmful use. The police then classified these as "deadly weapons" and charged him 3 days of suspension from school and 6 weeks sentence to the "Behavior Intervention Center" which is the same punishment he would have gotten for bringing a loaded pistol to school. These unjust actions are interfering with Ashton's eductation, and personal life. We agree that the school's action towards this student is not justified and unamerican, and he should be facing a misdemenor at most for a crime so unworthy.
