Web Standards & Accessibility at UAT

The attempt of this petition is to convience UAT and the UAT IT department that the students of the school want to see web standards implimented on the school sites and for those techniques to educated to the students. A university whos goal it is to teach its students about the bleeding edge of technology should not be developing websites and teaching the webmasters of the future to only develop for one, arcane, monopolistic platform (MSIE), which besides being in violation of web standards, is highly incompatible with any other operating systems or browsers.

We are requesting that the sites be redesigned using proper web standards, and that they incorperate accessibility capabilities for disabled students.

There are no attempts made to support alternative platforms, nor are there any attempts to offer users with disabilities means to browser the site using accessibility enabled websites.
