300, People Against the People Against this Film

The movie "300" is an adaptation of a graphic novel BASED on the battle of Thermopylae. It was never billed as an accurate portrayal of the events that occurred. This movie was made to entertain, not to show the actual event as it was recorded in history. Anyone with even the smallest ability to reason knows that Hollywood embellishes and exaggerates to make a film more appealing to the audience. If the film had been made historically accurate, audience turnout would not have been anywhere near what it was for the actual film that was produced. Anyone who takes offense at a product of Hollywood shows their complete lack of the ability to tell fiction from fact.
As for the accusations that this film promotes racist values, this is an indication of people with an agenda and/or too much time on their hands. To claim that this movie is promoting racist beliefs is simply pathetic and stupid. The majority of people that walk out of the theater are not thinking about what the big bad Persians did to the poor little Spartans, they are either thinking that the movie was good, or it sucked. The few people, who come away feeling any hatred for people of Persian decent, went into the movie with it (IE: they were morons before they even saw the movie)
In conclusion, we ask that the people, who are so butt-hurt about this movie and what it contains, please find a hobby or something else to take up the time that you spend not using your brains. If you cannot find it in yourself to use that grey matter between your ears, please do us all a favor and do not reproduce. The world does not need more people crying foul over nothing, as it takes the attention off of actual cases of racism and other unethical behaviors that should really be getting the attention.
