The military dictatorship continues to smother democracy and oppress the people of Myanmar.
We respectfully call upon the Government to guarantee the fundamental human rights of all people in Myanmar and to implement the following:
Guarantee the right to freedom of expression
Release all prisoners of conscience - especially those who are sick/elderly
Improve conditions of imprisonment (conforming to international standards)
Stop torture and ill-treatment of prisoners by security personnel
Respect the rights of ethnic minorities
Sign major international human rights instruments, such as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
