A5 Road Scheme

I am writing to you to express my concern at the level of opposition portrayed in the media towards the A5 Project. I do not understand why there is talk about cancelling this project when so many people in the local construction industry are either out of work, risk losing their jobs or face having to leave Northern Ireland to secure employment.

The A5 project would not only create thousand of construction jobs secured for several years but will also create jobs in other businesses such as quarries, plant hire companies, local restaurants, accommodation providers and local traders. There are no other capital investment proposals in the pipeline that will provide this level of opportunity.

The ROI is contributing towards 50\% of the cost of this project. This represents great value for money to the people of Northern Ireland.

I strongly urge you to offer your full support to this scheme and to encourage the rest of your party to do likewise
