Alcohol Industry Accountability & Liability

Petition the United States Government to inact legislation that will require Alcoholic Beverage Producers and Distributors to:

1) Cease advertising per the same limits enforced on the Tobacco Industry

2) Contribute at least 10\% of annual profits to licensed Recovery Programs

throughout the United States.

3) Develop onsite facilities at recovery/detox locations to house and care

for children of alcohoics in recovery programs.

4) Free Family (including children of alcoholic recovering parents)

counseling.

Fact: Alcohol-related motor vehicle crashes kill someone every 31 minutes

and nonfatally injure someone every two minutes (NHTSA 2006).

Fact: Aneheuser Busch contributes millions of dollars to the Republican

Party Campaigns.

Fact: Each year, alcohol-related crashes in the United States cost about

$51 billion (Blincoe et al. 2002).

Fact: Of the 1,946 traffic fatalities among children ages 0 to 14 years in

2005, 21\% involved alcohol (NHTSA 2006b).
