1. We, the subscribers of pay satellite television service "Astro", operated by Astro All Asia Networks, plc demand that Astro change the codec used by standard definition television (SDTV) channels from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4/AVC "H.264" with minimum bitrate of 1600kbps.

2. Astro must assist the phasing out of old decoders and provide a new decoder that is H.264 compatible to existing customers FREE OF CHARGE in given period of transition.

3. This is to ensure the quality of SDTV is not threatened with limited capacity of existing satellites especially on high definition television set "HDTV".

4. This will benefit customers as Astro can provide more channels without sacrificing quality.
