The Japanese version of the 'Ponyo' theme song is a cute song written with the intention of representing children the world-over singing their favourite song. Children don't often sing in tune but this the point of letting an eight-year-old sing. The English 'remix' performed by Disney kids is nothing short of disgusting.
The abomination - sang by Frankie Jonas and Noah Cyrus - features auto-tuned vocals and rap. Aside from being unbearably embarrassing, it has made parents think twice about allowing their children watch 'Ponyo' in English. You can imagine how hard it will be to keep a child's attention for the duration of a film while they struggle to keep up with subtitles and try to understand the story line.
