I have read with interest this news item telling of the BBC's agreement with
Microsoft.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/5390000.stm

I am more than a little concerned about this, so if some people choose not to use Microsoft software technologies, I hope that this agreement will not lead to a situation in where those who use other operating systems (GNU/Linux) will find themselves either excluded from or having a diminished experience of the BBC Internet activities.

Such a situation (hypothetical at the moment, I realise) would surely run counter to the BBC's charter to commitment to provide media that everyone can access? The only solution is to use only use (open source) / (patent free) or (free licence patents that have no restrictions upon there use) technologies.

I petition the BBC to commitment to provide media so that everyone can access it.
