Every couple of years, Van Halen fans are let down when David Lee Roth is not reinstated where he truly belong, in front of the band that made him famous. Spammy Haggis (Sammy Hagar) is an ass who deserves to stay in a Cabo Wabo world for the rest of his life, the last Van Halen tour with Hagar was a failure, and now promoters refuse to promote Van Halen with ANYBODY-except DLR.
The 1996 reunion lasted all of a couple of months before the Van Halens got rid of him because he (effortlessly) stole the spotlight at the MTV awards. Those 2 songs on 'The Best Of Volume 1' were the best thing Van Halen had done since the '1984' album.
Alex Van Halen claims to have left his drumsticks in his bedside drawer now, and he says nothing will get him back to the kit. Bollocks. I think if enough money was shoved in front of his face, he will do it. I also think that if he, and brother Eddie, wake up and smell the failure, they will get back on the road.
They don't even have to speak to each other offstage. Emerson Lake and Palmer never did, so why should Van Halen.
