Call For A Special Meeting of the Members of Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit

Pursuant to the BY-LAWS: HILLEL DAY SCHOOL OF METROPOLITAN DETROIT, A MICHIGAN NON-PROFIT CORPORATION, ARTICLE VII, section C, which states:

C. Special Membership Meeting. The President shall call a special meeting of the Members from time to time as directed by resolution of the Directors, or upon petitions signed by fifty (50) Members of the School. The notice of any special meeting shall state the time and place of the meeting and its purpose. No business shall be transacted at special meetings except as stated the notice.

We, the undersigned Members of the School, petition the President, or her authorized representative, to call a special meeting of the Members for the purpose of discussing and taking action regarding the new Dress Code that was the subject of Head of Schools Steven Freedmans June 2004 letter to the parents, and which was attached to that letter. This stated purpose is intended to include all aspects of the Dress Code, including, but not limited to, its content, the process by which it was implemented, the role of the Board of Directors as relates to the Dress Code and the Head of School, and any actions that any Member wishes to proposed as an appropriate response. We request that notice of this Special Meeting be sent as soon as possible.
