Change the Winnipeg Malathion Spraying Program Policies

We, the undersigned petition to the City of Winnipeg, in the Province of
Manitoba to abandon the current policies regarding the use of Malathion
to control adult mosquitoes.

We feel that the current policies create a situation where the adult
mosquito population is large enough that it poses a risk to our health,
and our pets health, in addition to creating a nuisance that is
preventing us from enjoying our yards, the city's parks, and other green
spaces.

We petition the city to instead use a policy that allows the use of
Malathion when any level of adult mosquitoes are detected in city traps,
and that the Malathion spraying program continue until the end of the
mosquito season.

We also petition the city that the new policies DO NOT include the
exemption for buffer zones, unless the majority of the residents in that
area oppose the use of Malathion around their properties. The current
policy is undemocratic and favors the minority and not the wishes of the
majority.
