Civil Unions Australia

The petition of the undersigned shows:
We the people, the undersigned, wish to adopt a bill that will be introduced that enables homosexual couples all the rights that go along with a legal marriage but in their civil unions whereof a differentiated form of the legislation occurs whereas homosexuals commit to one another through our court system rather than a so called elevated power such as God or a Messiah.
Opposition to gay civil unions complain that the term marriage belongs to only a man and a woman and as such civil unions too closely resemble this perception. All the homosexual population are looking for is equal rights. So, why don't we, as a society, allow them those rights? Every single right and 'perk' that is given to married couples such as recognition should herinafter be provided to homosexuals to the exclusion of God or Messiah being witnesseth. If this is fulfilled, both sides of the argument can be satisfied and equal. This is Australia where all people are supposed to be treated fairly. Obviously there are people who want to retain the original meaning of the word marriage, so it's time for a compromise.
With the new era transpiring, we the people undersigned urge for a new revolution. Australia has made a large jump forward in their fight against inequality, but we still have a large issue at hand, one that must be resolved before Australia can move on and tackle the next socially structured issues that have caused an enormous degree of inequality and exclusion.
So we the people undersigned beg for this proposal to be granted to the extent whereof implementation of a bill that allows homosexuals to have civil unions is initiated.
Stop the inequality. Stop the hate. Stop the division in Australia.
