Desoto Co. MS Anti-Illegal Immigration

We are spending a huge amount of tax dollars on illegal aliens in Desoto County who have broken our laws. Since the early 1970s the Federal government has made it clear that they will not secure our borders, reimburse local expenses or deport illegal aliens. Illegal immigration has increased many fold since the 1986 Amnesty Act and there is no end in sight. Local communities are forced to pay higher taxes to support illegal immigration and it will only get worse. As a legal citizen of Desoto County, I believe we should pass all ordinances we can that would send a message to the illegal alien population that we are not a sanctuary county.
We should pass any laws that will decrease the population of illegal aliens here now and in the future. This should have the effect of illegal aliens self deporting out of Desoto County and to official sanctuary cities and States. It may also deter illegal aliens from moving to Desoto Co. from Memphis.
Furthermore, our County should prepare to enforce the E-verify State Law which will go into full effect on July 1, 2011. Employment is the reason illegal aliens come to America. Enforcing e-verify law upon employers is our only tool to defend ourselves from a large influx of illegal aliens without the threat of a discrimination lawsuit.
The census bureau released data from the American Community Survey of 2005 through 2007. A detailed analysis of the enourmous amount of data revealed that a large percentage of aliens work in the agriculture, construction, landscaping, restaurant, personal appearnace and hospitality occupations. I believe we should audit these types of companies in Desoto Co. and establish with certainty who their employees are as of June 30, 2011 to eliminate future fraud. Thereafter, those employers who are known to hire illegal aliens must be prosecuted for the new employees that will be subject to e-verify laws after July 1, 2011. Regular audits should be implemented. Unfortunately some small businesses have not complied with Federal law either which is where the illegal aliens are getting the jobs.
I consider this matter very important and I encourage my elected officials to pursue these ideas.
