Employment for Thirteen-Year-Olds

We, the undersigned, are opposed to the part of the child labor law that forbids thirteen-year-olds to work. While some thirteen-year-olds are too intellectually unable or physically incapable for the job, many of us are able and willing to get a part-time job that doesn't conflict with our daily school schedules. Before the student is accepted into the business, the teacher or parent may send a recommendation and their report card to the employer for overviewing to see if s/he is fit for the job. If the student is inconsistent with being able to deal with school and a job, the parent or teacher may interfere and send a note to the employer declaring that he is no longer eligible for the job.
We urge you to reconsider the your employment policies regarding thirteen-year-olds working. Thank you very much for taking the time to consider our request. We hope to see the policy changed in the near future.
